About the Project

An Open Framework

“Toward a Sustainable OER Ecosystem: The Case for OER Stewardship” and the CARE Framework were originally created by Lisa Petrides, Douglas Levin, and C. Edward Watson in 2018.

In keeping with the values of open infrastructure, the authors encourage individuals, institutions, and organizations to remix and reuse the Framework for their own contexts and research. If you have used the framework for research, assessment, or in your teaching practice, please let us know.

Also, please note that the CARE Framework version 2.0 is underway, with authors Lisa Petrides, Eddie Watson, and Regina Gong, to be released in late 2022/early 2023. We look forward to engaging with the community in this effort!
